Sabry Hassan Mahmoud, the rap artist known as African Soulja, hailing from Cairo, Egypt & Mannheim, Germany is on the rise, & with an impressive list of opening shows plus an almost consistant presence since 2005. A short rundown of who he’s opened for: Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul, Lil’ Scrappy, Paul Wall, DJ Tommek & Fard. This gruff voiced rap artist is doing his thing.

The track “Boom Pow Pow” is a release from African Soulja’s upcoming mixtape “Re-Feature Clash: The Bootleg Massacre Vol. 2“. With hard hitting drums, scintillating synths & Soulja’s rough & tough voice & attitude, the track’s a banger! Far from a high budget video (check out “the making of..“), the visual (shot in Germany) is street & gritty, with Soulja & his cohorts sporting Joker (from Batman) style facepaint. I’d like to know what that represents to them, listening to African Soulja’s lyrics from other tracks, there’s defintely a meaning to it. He definitely represents his home country, holding the Egyptian flag in parts of the video.
