Rap artist Karim Kharbouch, an American of Moroccan & Somali descent, recently signed a record deal with P. Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. His rise to fame….What? “Hold on, Who’s this African/Arab dude?”, you ask? You don’t know? Oh, did I forget to mention that his rap name is French Montana? Ok, back to what I was typing. His rise to fame came about from his ‘Cocaine City‘ street DVD series, cleverly including famous rappers in the DVD while dropping his verses in other parts of the video.

French Montana is not only a hard worker, but a smart one too. To use his surroundings to benefit himself while feeding the ego’s of others (via the Cocaine City DVDs), French built a firm fan following not only in America, but among Arabs & Africans too. For example, ask any Somali Hip Hop fan about French; I never did, but boy did I see them blow him up when nobody else listened to the man! So, we’ve decided to include him as our Dynasty Choice artist, our second one!

I’d call him a rap artist & an entrepreneur. Being signed to Akon’s label, Konvict Muzik, & later vied for by Maybach Music Group (MMG), Good Music & Bad Boy Records is not a chance thing. Plus, he’s the founder of Cocaine City Records & has many releases under his belt. It takes a good head on some firm shoulders to do what French did.

One-fifth of the crew, Coke Boys (includes Chinx Drugz, Charlie Rock, Cheeze & Flip), French seemingly drops mixtapes & singles after mixtapes & singles, keeping himself relevant in the Hip Hop game. As I type this, the big homie DEEN sends me a message about French’s latest mixtape, “NY On Top: Year Of The Underdog” & I noticed that he was on the cover of XXL Freshman of 2012, along with a bunch of rap artists I dig. Like I said, he’s doing something right! Hat’s off!

So, that’s a little who’s who, now for the music.

French Montana, Rick Ross & Wiz Khalifa laying ni**as down, down, down, down. My bad, the hook is as catchy as a TB virus.

Recruiting MMG’s boss Ross & Wiz Khalifa, French remixes the infectious song & drops a video to it too. While Wiz’s & Ross’ verses don’t 100% match French’s, it still sounds good & the video’s a decent visual.
