DJ, producer, entrepreneur, creative director.. These are just some of the titles carried by L.A.-based DJ Warrior. Considered to be one of the most influential players in the West Coast Hip Hop scene, DJ Warrior, also known as Zafar Hannan, has hosted a range of mixtapes for various Hip Hop artists, including Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Talib Kweli, Bishop Lamont, and The Game. He also teamed up with Pakistani-American artist Deen, who then went by the name Jihad, for his debut and sophomore mixtapes Death Before Dishonor and 93′ Fly. More recently, he lent his name to the Unity Vol. 1 – Middle East Meets Japan Mixtape, which was hosted by Deen.

Warrior, who is of Bengali descent, was voted to be one of the “Top Ten Most Influential DJ’s in the World” by Rolling Stone Magazine. He has won the Justos Mixtape Award for the Best West Coast Mixtape DJ of the Year twice, and founded the Cali Untouchables DJ’s, an elite world-class DJ crew which includes members from L.A., Vegas, San Fran, Germany, and New Zealand. So far, in his career, DJ Warrior has achieved a lot, not forgetting appearing on the Jay Leno Show and being featured countless times in publications like Vibe, XXL, and Source.

Last year, DJ Warrior teamed up with Taan “Dragonman” Newjam, a Berlin-based DJ/songwriter/producer, to make an Electro remix of YG‘s popular Toot It And Boot It track.  They also remixed the video, adding in footage from live shows, including some footage from Warrior‘s last visit to Dubai, when he DJ’d at Chi at the Lodge. It was during this same trip that Warrior visited the Dubai Eye (103.8 FM Radio) studio for an interview on Zahra Soar‘s Open Mic show.

Most recently, DJ Warrior was the official DJ for Beluga Heights recording artist, Iyaz, during his tour through Canada & just a few weeks ago he shut it down at Club 2Mad in South Korea.  Look for DJ Warrior to make his return to the Middle East this Fall.
